Craig Chaquico's Notes on Acoustic Highway

Mountain In The Mist:
Her Native American name means "The Sleeping Lady"
And like a woman reclining after kissing the sky
In a gown made of mist and trees
Waterfalls and streams
She supports life
Mountain in the mist, Mt. Tamalpais

Return Of The Eagle:
Like the eagle's wing skims the grassy summit's ridge,
The eagle itself navigated the brink of extinction -
Only to return and remind us of nature's renewal
And it's cycles of completion

Gypsy Nights:
A wolf howls at the moon tonight
As candle casts flickering shadows on the wall
Tarot cards lay on the table
Gypsy, can you tell me why
She can make me feel this way?
In or out of love
Will we remain . . . after all these Gypsy Nights

Angel Tears:
Looking down upon the earth
Great Spirit of the sky felt mirth
And waves of joy became angel tears and rainbows
That brought new life with the spring

Acoustic Highway:
Let's start early and ride all life
On this highway that never ends
And if we somehow get split up
We know we'll just meet again

Sacred Ground:
Can you hear the echoes of the spirits of the land
The stories of many passing native clans
They whisper with nature's subtle sound
To all who pass this sacred ground

Summers End:
As the moon rises in the autumn sky
I propose a toast to you and I
Though sometimes it's a bittersweet wine we taste
When we drink of memories we've made
Because all summers end

Land Of The Giants:
Among the redwoods, sumbeams filter down
To the velvet carpet of the ground
In this timeless living room of nature
May our children return to this place
To pause and cherish this land of the giants

Sunset Altar:
At one end of an aisle called sunset
Is an altar of ocean, sky and earth
Where day weds the night
And Harleys drone in the distant night air
Like powerful cathedral organs
As we all surrender to the majesty
Of the evening's sunset altar
