Message From Craig

Happy New Year! Wow, it's hard to believe we're already in 2003, where did 2002 go? I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, and may 2003 be a year of many wonderful blessings for everyone. I always feel like Christmas comes early whenever I get the gift of hearing that somebody seems to enjoy my music, so thank you all for so many gifts like that last year!

It's been great seeing you all out on the road over the past year and I promise you that 2003 will be just as fun and exciting as 2002 was. So many great things happened for me in 2002...a new CD with Shadow and Light, two singles off that CD that reached all the way to the top of the national Smooth Jazz charts thanks to you all (THANK YOU!), a great tour which so many of you out there attended and it was so nice to see and meet many of you for the first time (THANK YOU), plus a whole new line of awesome guitars Carvin let me design with them was released this year! Thanks Carvin!

Of course this newly formed fan club, which I'm still in awe about, was also formed and none of it would have been possible without your incredible support. So many many many THANKS TO YOU ALL! Lil and Leslie have been so great about keeping everything on track and going forward with this project, so I owe them both a great big THANK YOU as well. Thanks ladies!

Currently, I am working on new songs with Ozzie and the band, and some of our other favorite musicians for my next week due out later this year...and it's been going great. We have noticed how inspired we get when we get the chance to perform live (again THANKS to you all!) so we are trying to do at least a few live shows every month during our writing and recording this time to keep the creative juices flowing! I guess you could say you are all helping inspire us with this next record even more than ever before! THANK YOU!

Hope you are all doing well in the New Year and are still having some time to enjoy each other, your friends and your families! Not to sound too proud here myself, but my 11 year old son, Kyle, who you may have seen on stage with me occasionally playing a little air guitar up there with his friends was on a winning Pee Wee Pop Warner football team this year!

He and his teammates won every game and the state-wide playoffs in order to make it all the way down to the final big championship game in California! So instead of being on the road with my band there for a few days, I was on the road with my son's football team! It actually didn't seem that different being on the road with a bunch of talented, motivated, team spirited children...hmmm.

Anyway, congratulations to the Ashland Bears, the coaches, moms and dads, and all the other teams in the league that all played so well, were all such great sports, and who all had the championship spirit!!!...one and all!

Once again, thank you for your great support and here's a toast to another amazing year ahead, may it be as bubbly as 2002 was! I hope you enjoy this issue of Gathering of the Tribes, there's another tour update, the latest winner of the caption contest "thanks for those great entries by the way", a message from lil, and an interview with Marquinho too! Enjoy!

Plus, we are coming up with some ideas here on adding some more surprises and special features for MEMBERS ONLY this year! Stay tuned!...to be continued.
